The ProgPoW<\/strong> mining algorithm is still not widely used in crypto projects, some of you remember Bitcoin Interest (BCI) as the first one who switched PoW mining to ProgPoW, but now the project pretty much dies a slow death. And while we are waiting for when and when Ethereum (ETH) finally switches from Ethash to ProgPoW as a mining algorithm, there is another project that has been using ProgPoW for some time – Super Zero (SERO), with which you can play. c, if you want to see the current status of ProgPoW miners. Of course, there are other projects using ProgPoW, but among them, SERO is quite popular. We remind you that ProgPoW or Programmatic Proof-of-Work were designed in such a way as to maximize the use of GPUs to ensure an equal level of performance without the support of a specific manufacturer of GPUs or the ability to actually provide much faster data transfer when implemented on ASICs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GMiner v2.01 <\/a><\/noindex><\/strong> recently added ProgPoW<\/strong> mining support for SERO<\/strong> on Nvidia GPUs, but this was a bit problematic, as it required the user to install the appropriate Nvidia CUDA toolkit for the video drivers you use. In the latest GMiner 2.01, this problem was solved by including the necessary runtime libraries needed to support ProgPoW, so with GMiner 2.01 <\/strong>it is easier and less problematic to use SERO mining on Nvidia GPUs using the ProgPoW algorithm. However, GMiner <\/strong>is not the only mining software that supports ProgPoW, it is only the last to add support, before that you could mine using MBMiner<\/strong>, and before that with TT-Miner. In fact, TT-Miner (Trade-Tec Miner) <\/a><\/noindex><\/strong>was one of the first to introduce ProgPoW support along with the controversial and currently unavailable Progminer software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the big question remains: which miner should you use if you use SERO mining with the ProgPoW algorithm on Nvidia GPUs? In terms of performance, all miners do about the same in our modern tests performed on the GTX 1080 Ti … it seems that ProgPoW support is based on the same core in all miners and is not very optimized (maybe not much is possible) with last year. So, how can you make the right choice, if the hashrate is almost the same for all three available miners, you should just look at other things, for example, the development fee that these miners have. GMiner and NBMiner <\/a><\/noindex><\/strong>have a 2% development fee for mining ProgPoW, while TT-Miner has only a 1% development fee for all supported algorithms, so this is currently the best choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
