ClockTuner for Ryzen (CTR) v2.1 – Download for Windows

The main goal of the ClockTuner for Ryzen (CTR) project is to improve CPU power efficiency and performance by fine-tuning frequency vs. voltage. Huge tuning possibilities will satisfy the needs of any user. Most of the processes are fully automated and the result is always individual for each system. Even if you are a novice, a multi-level security system will prevent you from entering a potentially dangerous setting.

Download ClockTuner for Ryzen (CTR), Guru3D is the official download partner of this handy utility that can improve the performance of the ZEN2 processor on your PC. The CTR (ClockTuner for Ryzen) software allows every user to tune the system with maximum energy efficiency. In this case, CTR is fully automated and does not limit the user’s actions. The program has a kind of artificial intelligence that will help in any situation, and the protection system will track every step so that your components are not at risk. CTR is compatible with all AM4 socket motherboards, despite AMD’s artificial restrictions. As for the conditions, I guess one thing is that the processor must be based on the Zen 2 architecture. CTR is made by the oldtimer Guru3D 1USMUS.

Please read the guide before using how to use and configure ClockTuner for Ryzen. Do it seriously. We also have an updated guide based on v1.1 which you can read here. Our discussion forum on this topic can be found here.

The main principle of this software is to evaluate the quality of each CCX and tune the frequencies individually. Prime95 with a number of special presets evaluates the stability of each CCX. A step-by-step frequency algorithm with multiple rules allows to select the most stable frequency for all CCXs simultaneously without disturbing the energy balance between CCXs. CTR also contains a plug-in (optional) of Maxon’s Cinebench R20 test suite that will evaluate the tuning results.

Installing ClockTuner for Ryzen (CTR):

  • Download CTR and extract the ZIP archive to a folder of your choice.
  • A common mistake is that people forget to run the program as administrator or forget to remove or disable the anti-cheat program.

Note . Sometimes it happens that the OS corrupts the CTR configuration file, and the application no longer wants to start. Below you can also download CTR Config Cleaner which will allow you to get rid of the corrupted file.

Requirements for CTR

ClockTuner for Ryzen (CTR) is required for proper operation:

  • .NET Framework 4.8 (download)
  • Ryzen Master latest build (download)
  • BIOS for Zen 3 with AGESA 1.1.0.0 path D or newer (check your motherboard support page).
  • BIOS for Zen 2 with any AGESA.
  • BIOS for APU with AGESA 1.2.0.0 or newer.
  • BIOS without manual CPU voltage and CPU multiplier settings, without PBO (i.e. set to auto or disabled), without curve optimizer and without Performance Enhancer (or other similar technologies).
  • Adjusted VRM (Important! CPU LLC – level 3 for ASUS, mode 4 for MSI, High for Gigabyte and level 2 for Asrock usually work best). These values are approximate and may vary depending on the motherboard.
  • Stable DRAM (OC or XMP). If you are a beginner, enable XMP and do not touch the DRAM settings.

ClockTuner v2.1 RC5 What’s New?

  • PX PROFILEs for all processors. Unlock maximum performance in low-threaded applications and games.
  • Quick and accurate creation of P1, P2 and PX profiles during diagnostics (only for Zen 3 and Renoir). The whole process takes about 7 minutes.
  • Redesigned CTR HYBRID OC. Smooth and safe profile switching. Profile switching speed reaches 62 times per second (4 times faster than previous versions).
  • Preload profiles. Increases CTR response speed to load changes.
  • The efficient CTR HYBRID OC throttling system allows your processor to handle the increased load efficiently (base frequency at 1.1 volts).
  • Automatic recommendation of the minimum possible voltages for each profile. Allows to achieve maximum energy efficiency without performance degradation. In most cases it is able to outperform PBO.
  • Improved idle state.
  • Reading CPPC information through the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI).
  • Improved security of CTR communication with the system control unit (SMU).
  • CTR BOOST TESTER – Whether you use CTR or Curve Optimizer (CO), you can compare the results of each core booster with advanced information (temperature, PPT, etc.).
  • “CLEAR CONFIG & CLOSE is a button that allows you to reset all CTR settings to their default values.
  • Statistics of switching profiles in real time (PROFILES tab).
  • Auto recovery after sleep. Both for HYBRID OC and manual profiles.
  • CALCULATE button for PX, P2 and P1. If you need to recalculate the profile, you do not need to restart the entire diagnostic process (Zen 3 and Renoir).
  • Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA) check for the configuration process.
  • Improved protection against dangerous and unintentional user settings.
  • Automatic recovery of configuration files after a failure.
  • Improved Phoenix mode (fixed “PLATINUM trial”, etc.).
  • Independent profile system. If one profile breaks, the other profiles are safe.
  • Improved support for the unique dual CCD 5600X and 5800X processors.
  • AGESA 1.2.0.1 and newer is fully supported.
  • TO TRAY is a separate button. The user can choose how to minimize the CTR.
  • Improved logging for all modes and functions.
  • Processor quality categories are rebalanced (gold, silver, and so on).
  • CTR automatically adjusts the “Hold time”. No longer available to the user.
  • Increased CTR launch speed (up to 4 times).
  • CTR has driver priority. Allows it to work more efficiently when the system is under maximum load.
  • Reduced use of the CTR processor.
  • Alt-Tab lock when CTR is in the system tray.
  • Easier way to activate profiles (no saving required).
  • Numerous minor bug fixes.

Change log v1.1 Beta 7

  • Ryzen 3 3300X is now fully supported.
  • Autorun profile with OS fixes plus improved compatibility with the old Task Scheduler.
